October 7, 2019
For more than two decades, drirelease® has been an inherent part of the surging, connected lifestyle that’s changed how we dress as we engage with our lives — play, travel, work, or just relaxing. It’s what lets you move more comfortably — by wicking, drying, cooling and freshening — as you pursue your passions.Thinking about the next trends and challenges on textiles, drirelease launches a fashion eco blend, in partnership with Eastman, called drirelease Naia™. The benefits are non-chemical moisture wicking, fast drying (4x faster), permanent performance, natural cooling, extreme comfort, easy-care, hassle-free, richer and deeper colors, pilling resistance, silky smooth hand, elegant luster and luxurious drape together with sustainable responsibility to develop an eco-friendly product. Hundreds of the world’s most respected brands utilize drirelease expertise, sophisticated fabrics and textiles solutions based onscientific inquiry, deep research and innovation in technology.
“We are excited to be working with innovative companies like Eastman and offer the drirelease Naia™ yarns and fabrics especially in the market where performance and sustainability counts,” said Ashwin Jaju, General Manager of drirelease. “Together, drirelease and Naia™ will provide our customers options to blend fashion, performance, and sustainability in one that will deliver the ultimate comfort to the wearers”
Naia™ is made with wood pulp sourced from sustainably managed pine and eucalyptus plantations and forests, resulting in no deforestation of ancient and endangered forests. Naia™ is produced in a closed-loop production process where safe solvents and water are recycled and reused, ensuring that Naia™ has a low tree-to-yarn carbon and water footprint. Listed on the Higg Materials Sustainability Index, Naia™ has a smaller environmental impact than fibers such as generic modal, triacetate and viscose. “Naia™ is gaining momentum as a yarn that combines the needs for sustainability with the softness and easy-to-care for fabrics needed in the fashion market.” said Ruth Farrell, global marketing director for textiles for Eastman. “ We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader like drirelease® to make sustainable innovation a reality.”
