New drirelease® with FreshGuard ‘Health and Wellness’ Sock from Achieve o2
August 5, 2008
Since its development in 2000, drirelease® with FreshGuard® moisture management technology has been used in scores of products at over 100 well-known performance brands worldwide. Now, manufacturers are combining it with other compatible technologies to double their products’ benefits and further set them apart from competitors.
drirelease Comfort + Health and Wellness in a Sock Launched in 2003, Achieve o2 is the exclusive global distributor of Celliant™, a type of Holofiber® formula that enhances the body’s ease and performance. Ao2 develops and manufactures health, sport and diabetic socks and sport braces made with Celliant technology for branded and private label programs. Now, for fall ’08, Ao2 will offer a drirelease sock with a sole of Celliant aimed particularly at the athletic market.
Celliant™ is a specially formulated material that, when added to textile products and worn or placed next to the skin, has been clinically proven to enhance oxygen levels in the body by 8% to 25%. This helps regulate body temperature, increase energy, accelerate muscle recovery after exertion, aid in wound healing and, in a recent study, has been shown to help reduce pain. A patent held by Hologenix, LLC, Inc., Celliant works by modifying light, altering its energy and transmitting it to the body through textiles in contact with the skin.
Already used in the medical, sports and sleepwear markets to aid in health by keeping the skin dry, comfortable and inhibiting bacterial growth, drirelease will supply its unique set of benefits to the new sock. The addition of Celliant will boost its comfort and add athletic performance by aiding in muscle recovery and reducing pain.
“The combination not only adds up to an exceptional value in benefits for the consumer, it demonstrates both the flexibility of the drirelease patent and the ability of brands to build unique performance products,” says Lee Thompson, manager of Optimer’s east coast business development.
The new drirelease Celliant sock will be available at wholesale via stock programs with point-of-purchase signage and/or display units. They will also be sold online directly to consumers. For more information contact Adam Scire (704) 799-2035, email@example.com or visit www.achieve-o2.com.
Optimer Brands, formerly known as Optimer Inc., a Sterling Capital Partners company, is based in Chicago, IL, with operations in Wilmington, DE.
Founded in 2001, Optimer Brands conducts textile research, development and marketing and has a scientific staff credited with over 100 patents and developments. drirelease® is a registered trademark of Optimer Brands. It is a patented, intimate blend of synthetic and natural fibers that combine wicking and quick drying attributes into a single yarn. Instead of spreading the moisture across a fabric’s surface, drirelease actually pushes it to the outside of a garment, releasing water and perspiration faster than any other performance fabric on the market. drirelease includes the added benefit of FreshGuard®, an odor neutralizer embedded in all drirelease fabrics that virtually eliminates odor without using harmful chemicals. All drirelease attributes are inherent to our yarns, meaning they will not wear or wash out. For more information, visit www.drirelease.com.
FreshGuard® is a registered trademark of Optimer Brands. It is an odor neutralizer embedded in all drirelease fabrics. It eliminates odors in garments by blocking odor-causing sebaceous body oils from attaching to the fabric – also stopping the attraction of odor-causing bacteria. Not an anti-microbial or anti-bacterial, which attack bacteria that possess positive functions, FreshGuard is environmentally friendly. For more information, visit www.drirelease.com.BACK TO NEWS
